Cats can’t ADD, but they sure can MULTIPLY!
Planned pethood in action right in our own town!
Most people don’t know that a cat have her first litter at the age of five months, and with 3-4 kittens in each litter and 2-3 litters a year, that’s more cats than we can ever find homes for. And unfortunately many of these kittens born outdoors do not survive.
To promote animal welfare and save lives here in Montclair, Communities Promoting Animal Welfare NJ (CPAW NJ) has teamed up with New Jersey’s largest low cost spay neuter organization, People for Animals (PFA), and Acme Supermarkets on Valley Road to bring the SpayStation Mobile Surgical Unit (fka Neuter Commuter) to Montclair!
On Saturday, October 28, the PFA SpayStation will park in the Acme parking lot at 510 Valley Road and PFA’s Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. David Croman, will spay/neuter up to 30 cats at a low cost. Both outdoor community cats and pet cats are welcome. Prices: $55 for an unowned community cat (mandatory eartip) and $75 (regularly $90) for an owned pet cat. PFA will be including Rabies and FVRCP for all cats at no additional charge (usually $19.00 each).
Here’s how you can take advantage of this opportunity: just send your name, Montclair address, and contact information (both email and telephone number) to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will contact you to finalize the process and give you details for the surgery day and payment options.
- Cats must be dropped off by 7 am and picked up by 3 pm.
- We NEED volunteers to help with transport, if necessary.
- Space is limited so please contact CPAW NJ as soon as possible.
